Could the current Arab-Israeli conflict mimic a repeat of the 1973 oil crisis?

Arab nations control the 'blood' of the world economy (A.K.A oil). A further rise in oil prices and a decrease in supply would cause severe global economic problems, particularly on the already crippled US economy. Shouldn't the US understand the power of OPEC members and prevent the potential genocide on the people of Gaza by the Israeli government?Could the current Arab-Israeli conflict mimic a repeat of the 1973 oil crisis?
But the crippled economy and recession would mean that oil prices would decrease, and demand would also decline.

But I agree with your point - OPEC could bring the world to its knees. But aren't most of the Arab nations in the Gulf allies of the US?Could the current Arab-Israeli conflict mimic a repeat of the 1973 oil crisis?
Yes, we should be supporting the ones with oil instead of israel which has nothing we want and a lot of what we never will want!
